How to copy your Wii Games
Making a backup of your favorite Wii games will help ensure that you are never without it in the event a game gets damaged via scratching or becomes corrupted. The instructions below will help you save a lot of time and money so you don’t need to replace discs constantly.
Instructions:
• Locate a DVD drive that is compatible and designed to backup Wii games. One such drive is the inexpensive LG GDR-8164B which can be found online for a good price. It is very important to get the right drive. If you don’t, the backup process will not work properly.
• Using the manufacturer’s instructions, install the drive on your computer. When this is completed, you need to download software applications. They are Raw Dump 2.0, net Framework 2.0 and Winrar
• Install the applications. You want to extract the contents in the Rawdump 2.0 file to a desktop folder. To do this right click on the Rawdump.rar icon and select “Extract to rawdump 2.0”
• Stick the Wii game into the installed LG drive. When the game is in the drive, go to the rawdump folder on your desktop and doubleclick. When the folder opens, doubleclick on the rawdump.exe file to start the installation process.
• Rawdump will open an interface window. One of the options will be to “Start Dump”. Select this option and relax. The process can take up to a few hours.
• Looks at the size of the file that was create when the dump is complete. You can do this by opening the folder that contains the Rawdump file. The dump file will contain the name of the game as an .ISO extension. Right click the ISO file, choose properties and check the file size. The exact file size is supposed to be 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes). If this is not the file size, then the dump process did not finish properly and the process has to be redone.
• Start a DVD/CD burning software like Nero. If the software opens a dialog box that reads “Create Disc”, cancel it so that you can start a manual process. Select a “Burn Disc” option using the Burn software and choose the ISO image from the Rawdump directory that you dumped earlier. Use a slow speed for the first try.
